NAMM has come to a close and with it came the rain. Lucky NAMMrs this year had decent weather. Lots of new contacts and cards to sort through. I can’t wait until the concept of the business card has gone the way of the dodo bird for everyone. Having a phone that is capable of transferring information on the spot makes business so much easier.
I’ll be spending a bit of time indoors today. No matter, a music project I’m working on should be getting finished today, along with the fact I’ve got some new toys to play with. That’s the fun part of picking up new things at NAMM, getting a chance to put them to use and to get feedback. For those of you who come by Single of the Day who are musicians, there’s a plugin by Studio Devil called Amp Modeler Pro that is absolutely the best Amp Modeler I’ve heard yet. Get your hands on it. You’ll be glad you did.
Gotta get my workout going so I can get to the music, so lets get pumping with today’s track.
I got a chance to catch Collective Soul playing for the Dean Guitars event at NAMM. Actually there were several acts that night. I know that I twittered about the sound that night. Soundguy at Dean Guitar event = #fail. That didn’t stop the show from being cool to be at.
If there is one thing I can say about Collective Soul it’s that they have a very distinctive sound and a penchant for writing catchy tunes. I should say Ed has that penchant as he is the writer. The get some of the most polished sounds on the planet. It’s astounding. It doesn’t hurt that they can play their asses off.
Enjoy your day and get your collective soul together!
