There’s a plan on my agenda today. That plan is to go get the hairs on my head cut. Once that is done it’s off to the studio to spend some time writing and recording with Heather Bradley. We’re nearly finished with a CD of jingles.
Once that’s done it will be a slight bit of rest due to a very late night last night. It’s now two nights in a row that I’ve been up past 4 a.m. The pub night two nights ago was teaming with drinks and fun people tearing up a storm of Irish style fun. Boy the Irish know how to drink. Then last night was a trip to a local dive to hear a not so great funk cover band. When I got home I had a message that was a bit of an interview from a chap from the UK.
It was for a good friend of mine Jeff Soto. Thus I’m inclined to roll with a song from his extensive catalog. Part of the interview involved a dear friend of Jeff’s and a friend of mine, Marcel Jacob. I recalled some of the time that I spent with him. Marcel unfortunately ended his life not long ago due to personal reasons that were health related. A sweeter, sharper and more logical man you may never meet. It was a treat to know him and be privy to working with him and Jeff on some music. This particular song has my voice in the chorus vocals. Marcel & Jeff doing the writing duties. It was an inspiring moment to be asked to be a part of it.
Of course there is a terrible news of a country having lost their leaders as well. What a strange time.
This song has a very classic feel to it. Straight up great vocals from Jeff, awesome playing by the rest of the band. A great melody and strong arrangement. It works.
Go get it and use it as a soundtrack for the heroes in your life that have passed along.
