Despite my slight rant yesterday, I am still very positive on music. I do believe most people value music. I know that I provide value. I also know that I have to stand up for myself even if it means a deal falls thru.
Right now, I’m on my way to The River. A little strip of the Colorado river on the borer of California and Arizona. The town – Parker. Some buddies and I are going to go float around and have some fun. Much needed R&R after a stretch of several songs getting completed.
Now let’s take a moment to imagine how the world can change based on the actions of a person. I know full well that music in and of itself is not a likely candidate to cure cancer. But there are types of music that apparently promote health and growth. At least there are studies that make that theory a reality.
Imagine how we could be as a race if we didn’t have politicians bent on creating fear. Why do people listen to fear mongering?
Which brings me to the ultimate song about imagining things – Imagine. John Lennon was certainly a person who created a stir of change during a very tumultuous time in the history of America, and the world for that matter. At least this is what history tells us.
We’re into another tumultuous time and yet it’s becoming so hard to hear the message that John used to spread. There’s so many people pushing the message that it’s becoming diluted. Is there an artist with the same aura of personality that John had? With an ability to rally the press whenever he/she does something? I don’t mean someone like Paris Hilton who is famous for nothing but being a party girl.
Am I wrong?
If you don’t have this song, or you’re not familiar with it, what rock have you been hiding under? Go get it now. Don’t pass go and go do it legally.
