I seem to remember a Tom Cruise flick that I rented once where a character had a set of law’s that he created. Sorta like Murphy’s Law or something. My friend Robert ought to have his own set of laws as he often espouses something and then bingo, he’s actually pretty right on. Of course I could probably throw another friend into that same boat. She also says things and they seem to be pretty accurate as well.
Robert is one who is doing a lot of looking for something some of us find and some of us don’t. However, he definitely gets an A for all the effort he puts forth. In the process I get to hear about some of the trials and tribulations and it’s certainly an interesting trip. Actually I know more than a few people on that very same trip right now. The best is when your with a friend whom you find attractive, and you’re out somewhere with them and they’re chatting with someone and mention: I’m looking for this, that and the other thing. Suddenly you’re thinking, hey, what the hell, I’m standing right here, what about me. I know it’s happened to Robert and Joni, and hell I’ve even thought it at times as well.
As it’s said, it’s sometimes hard to see the forrest for the trees. Or something like that. Though I can’t even begin to explain what my connection is with that saying and what I was typing about.
Here I am thinking about a set of laws and I haven’t passed one along. Here’s one that I’ve heard him say: Never date a girl who is 26 to 28. The reason, they don’t know what they want and all they’re looking for is causing heartache.
While I might agree on the part about not knowing what one wants at a mean age of 27, I don’t know about the looking to cause heartache.
Which brings me to today’s choice. It’s something that everyone can ask for but never guaranty. We would all love to go thru life and not have a broken heart. I’m willing to bet that no one has ever made the cognitive journey without suffering a busted heart. I’m also pretty sure that most people have heard this tune at some point in their lives. Elton isn’t an unknown and this was a pretty good sized hit if I’m not mistaken.
Thus if you don’t have it and you’re not familiar with it, what rock have you been under? Go get it now.
