Today marks the day that Apple & ATT have rolled out the next generation iPhone. Of course I decided it was finally time to make the switch. I went to get one at the local Apple store only to be stuck in a line. Then a man came up to tell us that the ATT store across the street had no line and iPhones in stock. Thus I skipped line and went to the ATT store and sure enough they were less busy and had them in stock. I was in and out much quicker there. Go figure.
Sprint immediately turned my phone off, which unfortunately left me out of contact for a while. ATT did take a while to activate the phone. Now I’m going thru the app store and find apps I would want. And the syncing the music library is not speedy. Still working on transferring music and video to the darn thing.
But I’ve got it set up and the mobile stuff is working well. I tried the Find My iPhone function on mobile me and sure enough it found me. Great stuff.
My writing session with Troy MacCubbin was fun. We got a great start on a tune and have the music structure, the first verse and the chorus.
So let’s get to the song for today: Telephone Line. Brought to us by a band that had a day in the sun back around the early 70’s I think. ELO. I like the way the song starts by sounding like its coming thru a telephone. Pretty cool idea. The key here is great melodies, cool guitar riffs, and great production. It’s a little dated but that’s due to the fact of the era it comes from. That doesn’t stop it from being a great song.
Besides it’s all about having a relationship with someone and hoping they’ll be there when you call and/or answer. Though we’ve moved on to texts, IMs and tweeting, I think it still holds true for wanting to hear a voice and being connected by sound.
Go get your iPhone on and enjoy the song. If you dig it, go get it for your iPhone.
