Myles Kennedy

Yesterday marked a day in travel that I won’t soon forget. Nothing like being pushed and shuffled around by an airline. Especially one that you use more than others. The trip got off to a bad start when my ticket was to be waiting for me at the terminal. It wasn’t. Then I make my way to the gate to find out that they need the ticket even though I have my confirmation. I run all the back to the ticket window with my bag where they have miraculously found the ticket, then I have to run all the back to the gate, going through security yet again. Minutes to spare to make the plane. Fun. Not. That’s the start of a day of problematic travel.
I get to the connecting flight. They’ve oversold and they bump me. Tell me to wait two hours for the next flight, pushed to standby. I wait. They bump me again. Pushed to yet another flight, routed through a 3rd town. Finally get on that flight. In the 3rd town, I’m talking to the counter lady who ends up taking all the tickets from my flight, about to leave me with nothing for my return trip home. When I explain the situation, she gets a little testy with me thinking I’m some kind of jerk trying to get a free flight home. That is, until she cools off and sees that I got bumped around a few times. Hopefully, I won’t have an issue come Sunday when I need to get home.
To put it out there: Stop fucking overselling flights you greedy bastards. It’s bad enough to get nickle and dime’d to death with fee after fee. But to oversell and then bump passengers without warning and no compensation is pretty lame.
Which runs me into Traveling Riverside Blues. Normally I’d run my Robert Johnson version, but I’m going to take a departure. Instead I found a version by a musician named Myles Kennedy. I met Myles a couple of years back a NAMM. So brief, I’d highly doubt he’d remember it. We’re both Taylor guitar endorser’s or at least at the time we were. I still am, I’m not sure if he is.
Regardless, I don’t throw around a ton of high praise. In the case of Myles though, he’s one of my favorite singers. He’s got a great voice, a cool look, and a charisma that is obvious. Enjoy this little snippet of an old Robert Johnson song as it’s performed by someone I’d love to work with in music.
I’m off to meet video game developers. Looking to expand my musical adventure further into video games. Also looking to meet up with some people I know and others I haven’t seen in a few years. May your travels be peaceful. May they not be blue. Hopefully problematic travel won’t be you.
See ya tomorrow.
