Yesterday was busy as was predicted. It got even more interesting at around 4 in the afternoon. I got a text from a new friend who invited me to little industry gathering that was happening last night. Nothing like getting a last minute invitation to a cool event. If there’s one thing I’ve learned in this industry, it’s that you have to get out there and show your face.
It was a lot like music royalty last night. What’s nice is, I actually knew a good percentage of people there. I also met some new people that will lead to some nice opportunities down the road. Always a good thing.
This weekend is a busy time for musicians, especially in Los Angeles. All sorts of Grammys parties are happening. In addition to that there are other parties going on too. Gonna be a trick to balance them all, already some I’m having to turn down. Bummer.
With that in mind, let’s go with a song that is nominated for a Grammy. It’s Fuck You by Cee-Lo. I’m having a day where it’s a good time to be saying it. It’s not directed at a woman like the song lyrics are, but I can relate to it. I’m sure a whole lot of people can relate to it.
I really love the old school vibe of the song. That cool Motown type vibe. It’s way to cool. I did vote for this song as a Grammy member. I couldn’t resist.
