You know you’ve been to a good BBQ when you come back from it and you’re in a meat coma for the rest of the evening. If there is one thing my friend Ed does really well, it’s BBQ’in meat. He really knows his stuff for slow cooking and smoking it. Tasty tasty stuff. He was wearing a funny shirt as well. It read: PeTA – People for eating Tasty Animals. There’s no doubt that there are people in the world that will find that shirt offensive. Oh well.
For those of us who had been getting pounded with heat in Los Angeles, it’s gonna be a nice change today with cloud cover reducing the heat. For me it will still mean time in the studio as I started a clean up of the studio today and found that I have a slew of tracks for the library that were started and near completion. Thus tonight and tomorrow will be completion of started tracks.
In the meantime, I’m already putting the feelers out attempting to find out how to get an artist profile on Ping. Seems rather silly that Apple would alienate the vast majority of artists for a select few, but then again it’s not that surprising.
I’m gonna start this week off with RUSH and their song Working Man. An old school song by a powerhouse of a band. No doubt. Three people pulling this off and making it happen. Great stuff. Power guitar riffs that are reminiscent of Led Zepplin, thumpin bass, and slick drums. Top it off with wailing vocals and a band that cares about music over image. It’s a great thing. Must be why they did so well.
