One thing I’ve been relaying to people as of late is the concept of only taking on tasks that make you say – Hell Yeah when you do them. This morning I have a meeting with a prospective employee for my library. I want to get a feel for the person and figure out if they’re really all that interested. I realize it’s a bit of a tough time for a lot of people. However, that’s a perfect time for people to be much more discerning about what they want and need to accomplish with their goals.
One thing I do like is to network. While I’m not the biggest party animal I do enjoy meeting people so long as its not under weird circumstances.
Like last night, I had a buddy that I’ve done a bit of work with in the past year, he is networking me to someone he knows that is an agent for composers. This is a perfect situation. When you get handed on a silver platter to someone who is looking, it’s a bit of serendipity. I’ve got to get to my credit list actually, so let me get to the music.
I think No Fault is a good choice. A lot of people don’t want to take responsibility for their own destiny. At least they certainly don’t want to own up to messes they create. Which leads me to Big Wreck. They have a song all about the idea of No Fault. It’s a smoldering guitar oriented track that sneaks up on you. When it kicks in there’s a plethora of sound that really envelops you as a listener.
Smacking drums, a thumping low bass and when the chorus cruises with the electric piano there’s a real sense of urgency that drives the song forward. I’m really enjoying it. Are you?
