It must be in the air. How perfect that I get an email across my screen this morning as a possible agreement for representation on a single song. While it’s great to get an offer on a song, but if the rain is any indication, the deal is one of the worst deals I’ve seen in a long time. It was almost insulting to read it and see what the structure of it was.
The only good part to it was the reversion clause. Beyond that it was tremendously bad. The only thing I could write back was asking if they have any room to negotiate otherwise I would have to turn it down.
I’m going to get into the studio and get a mix down while the rain is coming down.
I’ll leave you with a song called Steel Rain by Chris Cornell. It’s from his first solo record which I still hold in real high regard. I love his voice. I love his writing. Of course the musicians on this CD are amazing. It’s a strong record all the way thru.
Don’t you agree?
Got Chris?
