Earlier this week I had thought that I would start getting back on top of posts and instead I’m still finding myself behind. Maybe I can get that to turn around this weekend.
I got a project finished with a couple of co-writers. It should mark the end of a set of songs. One of the writers was someone that started doing things the other two of us weren’t keen on. While I can’t say never, it’s highly unlikely that anything else will get started as a group.
Groups that end on a high note can’t be a bad thing right?
What we don’t see on the public side of things is all part of the image that occurs. Often there is turmoil within the group that leads to disagreements that take a long time to overcome. Probably why there were a slew of bands that called it quits and said things like when hell freezes over or when pigs fly, etc… Obviously hell hasn’t frozen over, but a band like the Eagles, when enough money in on the line and money is needed, will reunite.
If there is a group on the planet that exemplifies the idea of getting over it, it’s the Eagles. I’m sure they still had some issues when they did their Hell Freezes Over tour, but it sure made a big splash. The members had notorious things to say about each other in the past, but as I said before when enough money is on the line people tend to get over it. Doesn’t hurt that the music they created was more than memorable and had a huge following.
Get Over It is a prime example of a cool uptempo classic rock song. Lots of little parts in the song. Lots of layers. Snappy drums, honey dripping tone guitars, and a moving vocal that inspires me to get up and move my butt.
How about you?
