I got out with a couple of friends and business contacts to hit little white balls around acres of grass yesterday. It’s good to get out and see the sun along with breathing some fresh air and chatting with friends. Gotta love it. The amazing thing is, so many people are going thru life with similar things going on. I learned that my view on a few things wasn’t as unique as I thought. I’ll leave it at that.
In the mad attempt to put more work on myself, I’m in the midst of recording the master tracks to a new tune, while working on starting a new project for a company that quite a few musicians have heard of, all while helping in the final stages of a website that also is a benefit to DIY artists. To top it off today I’ve decided to do versions of my song Do You Want To Play for all the teams in Major League Baseball. Oh and I’m shooting emails back and forth about the release of Hero Unexpected. It’s enough to make a head spin like I’m in the exorcist or something (which reminds me, I have to send out yet another email).
Well, as the saying goes, gives something that needs to be done to a busy person and it will get done. Give it to a non-busy person and it will never get done. Or something like that.
With that in mind, I’m going to leave you with a classic by one of my favorite bands that I wish I grew up in an era to know or see in person – Queen. They have a song all about the idea of game play, although it’s very much related to the game of love. I’m gonna twist to be for the love of the game, at least for today. And in this case the love of baseball.
The thing about Queen is, they painted with sound. There is so much ear candy swirling around their luscious melodies that it’s extremely easy to get lost in their songs. It all so key with these four players. Individually it never seemed to work for me, but as a team it really blossomed. Great lyrics that we can all relate to. Amazing melodies and harmonies. Then add recognizable guitar riffs, bass lines and drumming and it’s a powerful combination that stands up to things like the Beatles and U2.
If you do not own anything by Queen why the hell not?!? Go no and get this if you do not own it. Don’t pass go.
