One of the eternal questions in life is likely to be about what does the future hold. Most of us generally have some curiosity about that. At least I do. I can’t say that I’d spend every waking moment thinking about the future, if I did that I’d never accomplish anything. Was it Lennon that said life is what happens while you’re busy making plans?
Everyone comes across a time where they question something they’ve done or something they would have liked to have done. Or maybe wonder how things could have been different. I know that as I’m finishing a project or getting ready to release something I get all kinds of questions running thru my head. Seeing as how I’m in the midst of that right now I can easily say that I’m going back thru events I’ve been thru and wondering if there’s anything I could have done to improve the situation so that when I come to something similar in the future I’ll more in tune.
I have to think that the one thing most people question in their lives are relationships with other people. It’s human nature. The thing that gets interesting is when people look outside themselves to things like psychics, palm readers, tea leaves, or tarot. I have to wonder if stuff like that is some sort of parallel to those who believe they can talk to a god. A supernatural type of outside factor that helps ease the mind on decisions that need to be made. The real scientist in me would love to know if there is some statistic that can prove the reliability of such things as tarot. Has anyone done an actual study of it?
Since I’ve recently been told of someone doing tarot reading on me and I didn’t know it could be done without your presence, I guess I can wait to see if such information comes to pass. In the meantime I will enjoy a song that was written by a friend of mine. Oddly enough it’s called Tarot.
I had to run the video because Seth is something you have to watch in action. He is one of those musicians that as you watch and listen you just have to hit yourself to believe its that good. I feel fortunate that Seth and I have shared the stage a time or two. Like lots of things life you end up going separate ways. I still check in on what he’s up to from time to time because I want to know that he’s doing well.
The story within this song is funny in that he wants to be the skeptic or rather appear that he’s not overly concerned about a girl in the relationship is attempting to get all the answers from the cards. The other thing I really dig about the song or about Seth in general is his insane sense of timing. Add to that the fact that he’s very much moving with the music, the body, the face, everything becomes a part of the performance. That’s when you know it wouldn’t really matter if there wasn’t an audience, he’s the medium of the music.
I really urge you to explore Seth’s entire catalogue it’s well worth it. You might even find a familiar name in the credits of one of the CDs. Now go forth and purchase!
