And suddenly it was summer. No spring.
That’s how’s it’s pretty much done here in the land of Los Angeles. It goes from being sunny but not so warm to sunny and hold on to your butts hot. I wonder if that’s a result of Coachella. They get things fired up in the desert with a bunch of hot music and it ignites the rest of the southland or something.
There’s a definite change in the air aside from the heat. A tectonic shift in the universe appears to be going on. At least I’m noticing it. Or maybe it’s the heat of the summer that is getting my brain refocused on what matters to me. I’ve noticed it in several friends new and old too. I’m finding that I’m looking at getting out more. While others are looking at staying in. I could be out of sync with several friends as well. But then that’s the nature of life.
It could also be that I’m getting quite excited for the release of Hero Unexpected. So many people liking the song ahead of time really puts a smile on my face. Even more cool is a phone call and a text message yesterday let me know that I’m getting some nice reactions from the people who worked on it as well. So much so that it’s led to some special treatment that I didn’t expect. We’ll see how that goes from here, but so far so good – or rather so great!
I’ve been getting a few more songs completed as well. A got a new co-writing session in yesterday and that led to helping a new co-writer by the name of Rusty finish a cool song that is currently titled Time Passes By. Something I think we can all relate to. Unless you’ve figured out time travel.
Speaking of time travel, I’m going to take a little stroll down my own musical lane. Time Machine is a song I release a few years back on my first CD under my name. It’s got a very groove oriented vibe. It’s interesting to listen to something I released and see what’s happened with it. The funny thing is it got used for some stuff that I never expected. (Wow, what’s with all this unexpected stuff in this post today?) I do the music for a podcast that has been topping kid and education charts called the Radio Adventures of Dr. Floyd. In case you don’t know it involves two scientists, one good, one bad, and two time and space travel devices… Look it up in your favorite podcast list, you’ll find it.
Anyway, as a little connection between new and old, Hero Unexpected also talks about space and time. Hmmm… methinks I like the idea of seeing past a normal lifetime!
Dig this tune and get ready for Hero to be hitting the airwaves near you. Until then support the blog owner for a day and buy this song, or better yet, buy the whole album. Wanna have even more fun? Buy all his CDs! It will make both our days.
