There’s pretty much one football game I watch a year. Probably like a lot of people in America. It’s the Superbowl. On a rare occasion I see parts of the regular season. Yesterday’s game was slow to start, but sure got intense in the last few minutes of the clock. I’m not a fan of either team any more than one or the other, I only wanted to see a great game. But it sure sucked for the Cardinals with that last Steelers touchdown and that lack of a call that became a fumble (bad call ref). Regardless, it was exciting to watch that part.
Now on to more current events today. Punxsutawney Phil is the big news today. Apparently the folks in Punxsutawney pulled Phil out today and boom he saw his shadow. For the folks who are experiencing winter in America, it apparently means there will be 6 more weeks of winter. I’ll say ugh for ya!
In the meantime, my monday morning is starting to escape from me so I need to cut to the music.
Is there a song about the ground hog? I looked around and found a couple of crazy things, but nothing that is on iTunes for release. Oh well. Maybe there is a market that needs to be tapped.
But I did find a tune by a former great band who’s singer is no longer, but is one of my all time favs. Queen with their last full band album called Made In Heaven. Talk about a storied album. Freddie is on his last legs dealing with dying from AIDS, going into the studio to knock out as many songs as he can. Still singing like a songbird and projecting a brave face at it all. An amazing man no doubt.
I think it’s an appropriate song for mellowing out after the intensity of the game yesterday and in light of the fact Phil the ground hog is predicting more winter. Maybe this song will warm the heart and get it ready for spring. Don’t ya think?
