Ever wonder why you did something? Of course you do. From time to time we all choose to do something and then looking back on it we wonder, what the hell the thought process was that got us there. Last night I decided to do something. I then did it and in the process of getting out of the area where I was I tripped and fell. Pretty darn hard too. I kissed pavement, though luckily I was able to save my face before it slammed the ground. I tucked and rolled and saved myself from full impact. Doesn’t mean it didn’t hurt.
Of course in the action of the moment, I had lost my hands-free headset. Due to being a little embarrassed from the fall and wanting to get out of there I didn’t even think about the fact the headset came off my ear. Bummer.
It doesn’t help that I was attempting to bring a little sunshine to a friend in a unique way. I’m not even sure they even noticed. Oh well.
What a juxtaposition, bringing someone a little sunshine and all you get hit with is some rain. Fortunately I found a song that has that very combination to it. King’s X, the band you’re listening to right now (if you’re not at Single of the Day, why not?) has Sunshine Rain.
One of the things I love about King’s X is how musical the drumming is. Jerry Gaskill has an incredible sense of groove but somehow combines that with unique use of each drum to create a musical vibe that becomes integral to the song. So much so that without it, the song probably wouldn’t work. Dug and Ty are no slouches either. All three of them sing and play. If you ever get a chance to see them live, do it!
I certainly hope that my effort for the sunshine overcomes the rain that happened in the process.
What have you done for someone else lately?
