Ever notice how something very little can make us happy?
Often we get caught up in the complexity of something hoping the end result will bring some sort of nirvana. In the past couple of days I’ve had a fridge die. Today a new one came to be installed. Being that I’ve had food strewn about the kitchen in bags of ice to keep it it’s something as simple as really courteous and efficient installers that can make a day.
Yesterday it was as simple as a hello from a friend I hadn’t heard from in a little while.
It was also a good nights rest last night.
Simple little things.
Which leads me to a band that had a whole lot of hits but never seemed to get a break from their label. Slamming guitar parts, well programmed drums and all slickly produced to carry the vocal. I got to meet them one time backstage at the John Ford Theater when they played. That was fun. Nice guys.
They put on a hell of a show too. The music played live lived up to the production they had on the CDs. What can you expect from a band that had members going to a school such as Berklee. An ethic of work that you don’t see much in the industry is probably the best way to describe it.
Oooh, look at that, the moment I typed that, the sun came out. Woo Hoo.
If you haven’t explored the world of Collective Soul, I’ll make it real simple. Go do it now!
