Golf.
Several friends have discovered this game and have been getting into it heavily. So when I’m asked if I play and how often. Usually I say yes I play and when I’m invited to do so. The next question is always: how good are you? To which I don’t really have a response. I don’t play enough to have a handicap that I would know. What I do know is that I generally end up somewhere between bogey and double bogey on the score card.
The reality is that I might get out to play once or twice in a season. So with that reference in mind, I suppose that’s not a bad game. I did attend golf camp one summer in high school. At the end of it, there was a tourney. I finished in 3rd and got a little trophy with a golfer on it. I do remember that the winner of it went on to play professional golf. I think the reason I do ok at it is that I’m tall. I have no other theory. Other than I seem to be able to hit the ball fairly well.
Why do I speak of this?
Today I’m going golfing as I’ve been asked to go play with a group of songwriters that I know. There ya have it. It should be quite fun. I like getting out in the sun and hanging with friends.
I’ve also gotten a nice little piece of contact info from my friend at Fox Sports. I will now be contacting what will hopefully be a new friend at the NBA. Keep the fingers crossed.
Since I’ll be out in the sun swingin today, I figured it would be fun to pull out a tune from a once very popular artist. I know the song is about swing dancing, or dancing in general. But I’m going to take it to be swinging sticks on a grass area while working on hitting little balls.
I can’t really imagine too many people that wouldn’t know who Steve Miller is. Massive hits include Jet Airliner, The Joker, Abracadabra, Fly Like An Eagle, etc… Lots of hits. Very popular. Great grooves. Great tunes. What more can I say. He rocks this Fallen Friday.
