Voodoo Child (slight return) on iTunes
A little late on the post today, oh well. It was a long day yesterday and quick morning this morning. I had meetings that were scheduled but unfortunately weren’t realized. They’ve been rescheduled for next week, and I’ve left materials with Maurice to make the presentation. At which point I’ll be on conference call to make the needed connections.
This morning came quick though. It’s weird being in a different time zone and not quite used to it. I stayed up a bit late comparatively to Los Angeles time. But then have to get up extremely early comparatively. Ouch. Then there’s the issue of something else. My skin was reacting to something either in the room or in Florida in general. Also, I’ve been having very red eyes. They don’t feel irritated but they make me look like they are irritated or massively tired. Probably a bit of the tired, but not massively tired.
I should have checked the flight time. Why? I had some strange memory that it was at noon, turns out as I’m sitting here it’s actually at 3:25 p.m. At least I’m on time and not running like a nutcase as I was on my way to Florida. So I’ve been catching up on some bills and other things while I’m sitting here. Thus this late post for the Single of the Day.
Lots of irons in the fire. But one that is sitting on the edge probably fell out. I’ll intimate more when I know more.
This isn’t a surprising post I’m sure. I don’t know if this song was ever a hit song. It’s a tad before my time. However, that doesn’t mean I don’t know who Jimi Hendrix is. If you don’t know who Jimi is, you got some ‘splainin’ to do. Seriously, Jimi changed a lot of things for guitar players in General. If you don’t know that, you’ve been hiding under a rock and must be new to this whole internet thing as well.
I dig this song though. So have a lot guitar players. There’s hundreds of cover versions. The most famous cover of it is likely Stevie Ray Vaughn’s. I was actually gonna use that version. Unfortunately some genius at his estate and label obviously isn’t hip to iTunes yet. Anyway, Jimi has a lot of CD’s out. Most are just re-issues. But check out his early catalog, it’s definitely some intense playing.
(** Disclaimer: if Jimi’s label decides to do a Voodoo ritual on my butt, I’ll be pulling out the audio and waving it like mojo until it disappears. The post will remain to remind me of my long sit in an airport. **)
