I tend to have a reputation that preceeds me. I’m pretty sure that a lot of the time when someone has that, it’s generally not a great thing. But in this case, I’ve got one of those names that people tend to remember. I tend to do some original out-of-the-box type of things with music and despite not being world famous yet, I have got a rep that reflects what I’ve accomplished and what I create. Last night I played a show, and just for the hell of it, I actually asked the crowd how many people had heard of me prior to that point in time. Surprisingly it was well over 50% of the room (not bad for a last minute show that I didn’t promote). I certainly hope that number increases in the near future. Well, at one point a short time ago, I was told by radio personalities Frosty, Heidi and Frank (97.1 KLSX – Free FM) that because I had already had a stalker, that I must be famous.
Yes, I’ve had a stalker in my past. I suppose it wouldn’t have been all that bad if it had been a female. Unfortunately it was a guy. Long story short, I finally had to pull a lawyer into the situation to end it. How does all this blabber tie to today’s song? Well, Bob has written what I consider to be one of the two funniest songs about stalking. The other is by Throwing Toasters, but I digress. Take a listen to these lyrics and see if its you that Bob is talking about. I can’t come on out and say that I’ve ever been the person who did the stalking for I’d be lying. but I have written a song about it (Searching For You).
Bob is a lawyer who moonlights as a musician. Or is it a musician who moonlights as a lawyer. He has a beautiful wife and two cute kids. He drives an old BMW and knows how to play a ridiculous number of cover tunes. He’s got dark hair. He’s quite tall, I believe 6’3″ and built like an ox. He used to live in Glendale but has since moved farther east inland in southern california. He likes Irish pubs. Bob is a huge Jimmy Buffet fan. Geez, I just realized that I probably know a tad too much about Bob. Maybe I’ve spent time stalking him…
Before I get to much further, let me just say, I made all that up.
Enjoy this mellow song that contains some great humor. Buy the song on iTunes as Bob isn’t selling it himself anymore. He has several more CD’s that you should also check out in addition to the rest of this CD. Be careful whom you stalk, it may end up in a blog.
