As the house slowly comes back together some things are getting updated. It feels pretty good to finally have the living space feel like it’s being lived in, rather than still waiting to be finished. A new couch will be here sometime soon, that will change the living room. Pictures are getting hung. Shelves and media are being put back in their spots. New lighting. It’s a good thing.
Musically speaking, today I’ll be putting together the 8th track of a 10 track funk CD with my buddy Jesse Stern. He’s a smokin bassist who has been on a tear for the past year or so. Tons of gigs with high profile peeps. Most of the tracks we’ve done up to this point were old school funk. Last track went slightly more exotic and this week it will go more modern. A little variety will help a lot.
Should likely have the whole thing done by the 2nd week of December. It will be awesome to have an additional disc for licensing.
For today I’m rolling back to a funk track called The Sidewinder. It’s a funk mixture of fun. Lots of bass, guitar, horns, organs, drums, and harmony. All instrumental. There’s energy galore and a constant movement that makes the feet want to tap and get moving along with the rest of your body. What are you doing sitting there? Get up and move. You know you want to.
