This is not about the famous book/movie. Not about the story of Atticus or Boo. No, this is about a bird. The kind of bird that tends to drive people insane in the middle of the night. Normally, I’m a pretty heavy sleeper though somehow I can wake at the slightest noise within the house if I sense something. However in the past couple of nights, I’ve been falling asleep way earlier than I normally would. It’s been leading me to wake up way earlier than I normally would.
This morning was exceptionally early. I usually go back to bed and sleep it off. However, a mockingbird took up residence outside the house this morning and their chirping is not consistent, thus it will tend to keep you up as it constantly changes and can’t be easily tuned out. 5 a.m. isn’t a fun wake up time when you’re going to sleep at 1. Yes, that’s earlier than I would normally go to bed. 4 hours of sleep doesn’t cut it for me. How about you?
It’s a passing phase, happens around this time of year for a week or so. In the meantime, I hope I don’t hear the little fucker tomorrow morning. As much as I love sound, I’m not fond of that chirping when I wish to sleep.
Trouble Sleeping is a tune by The Perishers. It’s got a sleepy tempo with a slight down vibe but bright in the top end. They definitely have the sound of where they hail from. That would be the UK. I do say that it has a slightly Coldplay type of sound and in a way dreary. It really encapsulates the idea of being super tired due to a lack of sleep. Don’t you agree?
Check them out with the rest of their CD, you’ll enjoy it.
