Before the holidays I had some computer issues. A rare thing for Apple’s but it does happen (unlike my iPhone experiences). After my tower got fixed I took in my lappy to have a part replaced under warranty. When I got the lappy back the case was not flush around the edges like it was before I took it in. I didn’t have time before the holidays to bring it in again, so I’m taking it in today.
Later today I’ve got a recording session to finish a song that was started before the holidays. Always seems like the first week of January is like the clean up week to things that were started during or right before the holidays. Of course I’m still waiting on a partner to send over notes and drums for a project that should have been finished about 4 months ago. I’m hoping it will also be today.
The fun is tonight I’m to see a screening of a movie called Crazy Heart.
A fun filled day to say the least.
Let me get to the music… Everyone needs to keep their soul. Who better to remind you and keep it check than King’s X? They have the perfect song about soul. Aptly titled Little Bit of Soul. The song kicks right off in the 1st verse without an intro. Nothing like getting right to the point off the bat. The idea to notice here is how King’s X has managed to layer tasty crunchy guitars with a falsetto type of voice all over a well baked bass and punchy drums. That’s one of the things I truly love about this band – how they blend cool sounds without losing definition and detail. Oh the beauty of bit and pieces and the quality they create.
Go enjoy your day!
