Last night I ended up seeing a high school football game. Mind you, I’m not a major sports fanatic so when it was suggested by my friend Mike, I was like eh, what the hell, why not. After the game, which supposedly had one of the best teams in high school football in California, it was decided that the game wasn’t all that great. I asked him what did he expect? My thought was, it’s high school football…
I finished of the evening seeing Men Who Stare At Goats. A very strange but funny movie.
This morning I got up with no agenda. After making a nice breakfast I ended up sitting in front of the computer feeling non-musical and decided to read about HTML 5. Don’t ask why. I don’t know. I then fooled around and created a page using the Audio and Video tags. Nothing glamorous. I know that I would love to have the next version of my site done in HTML, PHP and AJAX. It’s sad to think that I.E. still isn’t complying with the standards that are coming around. But it is extremely cool how easy HTML 5 makes it to add media content – goodbye Flash and buggy stuff (eventually).
I bet that’s the fear of Adobe or even Microsoft, having an open standard come along and make their software unneeded. Change is the great constant and I think HTML 5 should be taking over them. Writing of being taken over, I’m rolling with Evanescence and their song Taking Over Me. I’m sure most people wouldn’t be overly happy having something taking them over. Unless you’re into surrender.
Musically I really like how they’ve combined edgy guitars with orchestration and haunting vocals. They do it very well. There is no doubt about that. If you haven’t explored their sound it’s high time you did.
