Ah the joys of getting out of town. I’m typing this from a position of sitting roughly around an elevation of 6,500′. I’m able to smell the trees around me. The sun is beating down, though feeling warm it’s not in a suffocating heat. A butterfly buzzed by my leg and lappy screen as I typed that last line. I can hear the rustle of the wind thru the leaves of the trees. It’s relaxing. It’s what my internal doctor sense ordered!
In a word: Beautiful.
With that and knowing that I want to unplug as much as possible, I’m going to get right to the music. I’ve featured Seth Horan before. Seth is one of those bass players that pushes the limit on what bassists can do. He’s a master of very cool rhythmic ideas. Then add the fact that he can write a really intriguing song and it’s a powerful combination.
Seth was the original bassist for Vertical Horizon at one point. Then decided to strike off on his own path. I got to pal around with Seth for a short time and it was a fun time indeed. It’s always fun to hang with a musician that has an immense amount of talent that it pushes you to raise you’re own bar on what you do.
Seth actually helped to install some of the tile and grout in my kitchen. The two of us kneeling in dirt and grime. What a fun way for musicians to spend time, uh not! (do note the sarcasm in that last sentence). In trade I helped Seth record some of the vocals on the CD from whence this song comes from.
Speaking from experience you need to purchase this CD. As much as I like to promote the digital stuff, I really think you need the CD. Thus, you should visit the CD link and purchase it. I swear you won’t be disappointed.
Now, get off the computer and go spend some time with friends and the sun!
