As a fan of snow, I generally love to see it falling gently in the air to land on the ground, accumulate and create huge piles of fluffy white stuff. Hail on the other hand is not nearly so nice. Hail is what started removing itself from the Los Angeles sky this morning. In a brief bout of a downpour I though a swimming pool had been dumped on my house base on the noise. I looked out the window to see massive drops of rain coupled with pebble sized hail. Not often you see that in LA. I’m not really fond of hail. It’s cold. It’s wet. It’s painful when it hits. And it’s not fun like snow is. Glad that the hail was only a fleeting thing rather than a staple to today’s storm.
I do have to imagine that the hail led to a really nasty accident that I saw the aftermath of on the 101 freeway.
Crazy weather!
Seeing as how I’m not a huge fan of hail, I have to go with a tune by late great Stevie Ray Vaughn called Couldn’t Stand the Weather. I’m a fan of Stevie and I feel fortunate that I got a chance to see him perform live from literally about 7 feet from me to him. It was a fantastic show in the mountains of Park City at an outdoor concert in Deer Valley. A special event indeed. Though that was a summer thing. Not the dismal hail infested rain like today.
Stevie really needs no introduction. His playing speaks volumes for itself. Sit back, close your eyes and enjoy! If you don’t have Stevie in your library, it’s time to do something about that.
