Time.
Time is a little devil. Are you a person with too much of it? Or are you someone with too little of it? I’m the latter. I’ve been attempting to outsource. However, I’ve learned one lesson already. Even if you think you’ve hired someone and you give them the guidelines with which to run on a project, it won’t necessarily get done to satisfaction. I’ve now wasted two months of time with someone who makes a living doing websites. It’s rather sad. I’m now in the process of attempting to find someone else to finish it off. I’d do it myself, but that would defeat the purpose of outsourcing. Not to mention the fact that I have things piling up on me that require my attention directly.
So in an effort to get to those pressing needs, I need to make short on today’s post.
If you feel like you’ve heard this song before. You wouldn’t likely be right. But you would recognize the vibe it gives off. Remember an artist by the name of KT Tunstall? I featured a song of hers a while back. Turns out there’s a very similar vibe going here.
Sheri has lots of high praise coming from people around her which is a good thing. This song is probably the most hoppin’ of all the tracks I heard. Interestingly it’s one of those songs where you don’t really remember the title in the song. You end up remembering the “Who baby who baby who… Yes it’s you.” That there is THE hook of the song. The kick provides the drive. The guitar starts with a bit of a gypsy feel. There’s a lot of syncopation with the guitar hits in the song itself. I’m missing a little bass, but the drive is enough to support it. My head is bobbin as I’m typing this out and it will likely carry me through a few other little projects I’ve got to complete before finishing a mix of a song for a movie.
Pay attention to the name Sheri Miller. If she can break away from the comparison of KT, I have the feeling she can become a powerful name in the biz. It will be interesting to see where she takes it on the next record. Now, go find some time and send it my way!
