Well the Lakers didn’t pull off the major comeback that many Laker fans were hoping for. I guess they weren’t ready to play. 🙂 I’m kidding of course. The were bested by a team that many critics have called superior. Nothing more needs to be said. Kobe couldn’t save the team.
Typing of saving…
I read an article this morning that is rather interesting especially in light of the recent “tomato scare”. Over on CNN’s tech section of the web, there’s an article about vegan farming. Most readers and my friends know that I like to eat healthy, but in no way am I a vegan. But I figured it would be an interesting read. It is.
It takes the concept of organic farming one step further. In a nutshell they use no bone meal, no fertilizers, no pesticides, or any animal products in the production of the food they grow. Now that’s true environmentalism. I wonder if there will eventually be a seal of vegan farming on food. That would be fantastic. Though I’ll still eat meat, I would definitely buy vegan farmed foods based on the article that I read and the concept behind it. No I don’t think that makes me vegan.
One can only imagine that the corporate farms aren’t happy about people wanting to get back to organic style farming. They are likely less inclined to like vegan farming. No chemicals?!? What would Monsanto do? Hopefully enough people will perk up and realize that Monsanto is probably THE single worst thing to ever happen to the food chain.
Even though the article talks about and interviews a farmer in Mexico, and mentions farmers in Canada, I’m going with an Americana type song today. A rootsy type thing by a friend of mine who goes by the moniker Shandy Lawson. Shandy lives in the very Northeast section of the country. An area that is probably known for being a bit more laid back along with being keen on natural. It flows thru his music as well.
He’s got a super slim way of telling a story in his lyrics. He’s got a real simple approach to his creation. He’s got that vibe that screams rootsy. Sometimes that’s all that’s needed, the simple approach. Isn’t that part of Occam’s razor theory? With all things being equal the simple explanation/solution is best? I like that. Shandy seems to have a handle on that. Don’t you think?
Go forth and be healthy. Add some Shandy to your musical diet (do it legally of course).
