One thing I enjoy is when a deal goes through and everyone is happy with the result. One thing I don’t enjoy is when the opposite side decides to change the table at the last minute. Right now I’m dealing with a deal that was moving forward very nicely. All of a sudden it was like being slapped in the face. Now comes time to regroup and figure out why it is certain people/groups feel like they have all the power and think that someone providing support or a means to help promote them feel a need to screw with them. Very frustrating.
A song I’ve written and released is already selling with zero promotion on it. The question becomes do I allow someone to walk all over me to use the song? The answer is, no. I’m not in it for promotion only. Sorry, I work hard – like most people. I’m not about to do someone else’s job for free.
Last time the connection on a deal went south, I walked away and then they came back to the table willing to talk. Hopefully it won’t come to that this time around. It would be nice to have it work out without the need to walk away from being treated unfairly.
Since I’m wondering what is being said and why research wasn’t done properly on the other side, I’m going to roll with a tune called Jive Talking. Another old school song by a band from an era gone by. It fits the moment perfectly in terms of losing communication. Jive Talking was a term used to describe a form of english slang back in the 70’s, at least that’s I’m pulling up from the internet.
Fingers crossed that things continue tomorrow on a better path.
