You know things are starting to change when the people you’ve been chasing for business and or pleasure begin to realize you’re no longer chasing them. Fortunately more musical work has been streaming across my studio doorstep. Which has led me to putting a few more hours into getting things done. In turn it’s reduced the amount of contact I’ve been putting out there. The net result is that people are starting to contact me more for things.
I got a call for another trailer piece going out on the web which is cool. Friends have been calling or messaging me asking if I’m ok as I’ve gone silent. It’s nice to know that people miss you and want you. I won’t deny that. It’s sad when it takes an absence of being around for it to make people understand they miss you or need you. It’s said that absence makes the heart grow fonder. Not sure I buy that. But it certainly makes a difference when people get too used to you being around.
Kinda over the top when the action needs to be that drastic in order to get attention. Oh well.
In other over the top type of stuff, I was asked to create a theme for something that is coming up soon. I took in the ideas they had to shoot for and then went for it. I found out that I went a tad over the top with the vibe of the voiceover. Thus I got reeled back in to make it a bit more normal. Not a bad thing, especially when you’re told that upon first listen it makes the person laugh. Which is the idea of the piece. I do think the change they asked for will help the tone of the piece and that’s a better thing. So that’s what I’ll be working on a little later this evening.
I guess the appropriate question is How Does It Feel? It’s a question that I think a lot of people want to ask of others when they’re seeing how someone they deal with is now going thru the same vibe that shows hey, now you get it. Don’t take me for granted – or something along those lines. Of course Sarah is singing about a relationship between lovers, but I think it applies to other types of relationships as well.
I don’t get a ton of Jazz out on Single of the Day but it is good to have it for a change. I’m diggin the horn vibe. I also really like the sultry feel to Sarah’s vocal. The album cover is sexy in a sophisticated way too. It’s a package deal here. The drums are swinging, the parts all blend together to give a real sweet vibe to song. I’m enjoying it. How about you? You feeling it?
Go get it!
