One of the things that disturbs me is how ignorant some people are about music for their business. I’m wondering if there is a place in a non-third-world country where a person can go through an entire day without hearing a single piece of music. My guess is it would be very fucking hard to do. Music is a massively important part of life that is twisted in deep.
When it comes to gaining popular ground, music is probably THE single greatest way to get into someone’s mind quickly. Yet sadly, so many people fail to understand that. I don’t have anything that I can do to teach someone that other than to see what the world would be like for a day without it. I implore you to attempt to go a whole day without a single song or jingle. I bet if you’re reading this blog you can’t do it.
So here I am blowing off steam on something that was coming along beautifully until I brought in the legal expertise to make sure no one got screwed in the deal and the reality came out that the other party felt they’d just get to own the song outright because I’d be a generous guy for having written it and would happily give it over. Uh no.
Thus I thought I’d dig out one of those rare songs that was done by a guitar playing hero. Joe is not a singer. Though the lyrics and the message are very much the sentiment that I have at the moment. I believe. I believe in me. I believe in the power of music.
As for Joe and his song, I really liked the multitude of guitar layers when I first heart it. I still like the layers now. I like the mellow vibe. I love the flow. It’s all about that vibe and flow.
Do you believe?
