Even when you’ve done something for a long time in life, you can’t always predict how long a project will take. I was under the impression that today the floors in my house would be getting sanded and sealed. However, it will now get done tomorrow as there was more patchwork needing to be done prior to the sanding. Bummer. It likely means an extra two days of displacement.
On a musical front, last night I started creating more amp setups for my recording software. Now that I’ve gotten all the cabinet IRs turned into presets, I’m beginning to pick certain amps and thinking about sounds that I will eventually need. Of course I can’t think of everything that I’ll need right now, but I can get quite an arsenal of sounds put together.
I have run into one issue in the process. That is with all of these speaker IRs, I now have so many that it’s bogging down my software. I’m guessing Apple didn’t foresee end users having more than a few thousand presets. For the speaker/mic combos I have over 20,000. It’s cool to have so many choices. At the same time, it’s a little bit of a bummer that it slows down the menus of the software. Lucky for me, I have a way to get it sussed out with inside help. In turn it helps them fix their software.
Despite the slow downs, I’m on my way to getting a huge boost in saving time with having premade setups. Which brings me to one Danni Rosner. She has a song that you’re hearing today, on Single of the Day, called On My Way. I really like the sparse nature of the piano part. Especially as it’s floating over a spikey looping percussion groove. The feel changes to a release of tension when the song hits the chorus. I think that’s a really interesting split personality in the song. The verses definitely set up a bit of tension and the chorus releases it. Much like a big sigh of relief.
Probably the way I’ll feel when all this floor/remodeling and guitar tones stuff will feel when they’re done. A release.
Have fun exploring more of Danni’s sound. I recommend it!
