If there is one thing that I do pretty religiously, it’s backing up data. But even in the midst of all the backing up that I do it’s possible to still lose a file if a drive goes down. Such was the case in the past few days.
I had a backup drive go down. On it was some data that I had not yet backed up to an alternate source. The unfortunate result is that I’ve lost a couple of projects that I have final files for, but not the actual files that needed to be backed up. The original data files. Ugh.
Now comes the task of seeing if I have those source files somewhere. In some cases I do and for the next couple of days I will be doing due diligence to back them up and put them on a new hard drive. Such is life. This is why I spend so much time backing up projects when they’re done. So that I don’t run into this problem. But every once in a while the problem creeps in and there are still things that get lost in the shuffle. Oh well.
On to the rest of the day, lots to accomplish. Luckily I have the library tracks that were on said drive backed up in the cloud. I’m downloading them now to recreate my library on hard drive again.
Here’s a band that is obviously destined for the road, at least based on the name – Hotels & Highways. A very eclectic and mellow type of acoustic thing. I really like how it builds. There’s a whole lot of ebb and flow going on and I really dig that.
Don’t forget to backup your data and have a great weekend!
