Last night I was out kinda late. I went to see a little showcase at a venue called Genghis Cohen. I ended up seeing a friend play and chatted with the promoter whom I knew. I also saw a cat by the name of Kevin Campos I believe his name is. Very cool voice and his guitar player is a talented cat too. Afterward a group of us hung out and chatted about music and Spinal Tap. It went well into the night or rather early morning reciting lines from the movie.
Then I got up early due to the dog having some sort of issue. Good thing is, he’s plenty fine he was just restless.
I have a bunch of things to get to so I’ll have to cut it short. The song for today is: Hitchike. Something that I feel like I’ve been doing with some of the music stuff as of late. Of course this a classic from an era gone by in the camp of Motown. Marvin Gaye has an instantly recognizable voice and Motown has an instantly recognizable vibe.
What I mean with the hitchhiking is how you get the ride you need but you’re at the mercy of those who are in the drivers seat. A lot of what happens in music is a hurry-up-and-wait mentality. While I do that very thing, I’m creating other things to fill the wait.
