In case you’re in a part of the world that observes daylight savings and you missed it… It happened over the past weekend. The bonus of my day job is that I can set my hours a majority of the time. Which means I can easily work around the time change. Last night I ended up being up until after 3 a.m. Of course it was due to getting some music work finished.
Part of the issue was that yesterday that I spent close to three hours on the phone with Apple over the use of their iPhoto ’11 application. Turns out that the update to iPhoto ’11 can easily bring a powerful 8 core Mac Pro to it’s knees. The idea that I can do hard core audio recording with large track counts with ease makes it a head scratcher that a consumer level photo program can freeze the whole machine with a simple edit of an image.
The people I talked to were very nice. After being elevated to a senior manager, I was asked to run some software to track what the program was doing in order to ‘kill’ my ability to use my computer. I’m supposed to hear back from them today about the issue and what they’ve discovered. Fingers crossed they’ll figure it out and remedy the situation.
Since I need to get on with making more music, sending some emails, and making some calls, I’ll get on with the song for today…
Oooh, with the whole Apple thing and attempting to understand why there’s this issue, I have to roll with a song by Danielle Bloom called Tell Me Why. From the moment it kicks in you’re hearing an old school classic rock style of guitar riff and guitar sound. I’d call it thick like chocolate milk. There’s a bit of a fist pumping attitude going as I’m listening.
I guess I’d call it festival rock. There’s a vibe about it that makes me think it would be good at something like a festival. I wouldn’t be surprised to hear it at say a labor day event out at Parker Arizona or something. Seems to fit that environment.
Get your rock on. Have a great day!
