Today I get to meet a fellow artist for the first time. Her name is Aubrey Ashburn. If you’re a gamer, you very likely know that name as she is a singer who has been hired to sing on a lot of big games. She and I will be singing on a game soundtrack later this week. We’re having a powwow in order to be able to figure out some lyric changes. The composer has written the music and lyrics, but since english isn’t his first language some of they lyrics aren’t making sense.
I’m looking forward to working with a veteran of the game industry. Should be a lot of fun.
For me it will be a lesson learned. Partly because I’m understanding that this is probably more work than most games would be for pre-production. Hence why I’m rolling with Liza Day. I understand that the lyrics are geared more towards a relationship, but I think the title fits for everyday life. We should be learning all the time. At least I think so.
This song has a super sincere vibe. It’s the kind of vibe that seriously can happen on accident or by trial, this is ingrained in your DNA. She’s got something so personal it’s insane. The arrangement, the harmonies, everything. It just works. I feel like I’m sitting right there in the room as her and the group are performing the thing. An intimate show between only me and the band. It’s rocks pretty hard for something that is so acoustic.
