Finally getting up to speed with iOS 5. There’s been a couple of hiccups, but they’re slowly getting ironed out and I’m pretty happy overall with the change that has occurred. I have come across a couple of bugs, or likely shortsightedness in design. The most glaring is the alert tones that happen when something happens on the iPhone. In iOS 5, if you’re on a phone call, the alerts are played at full volume in your ear. It’s frightening when it happens and a use has to wonder if the person on the other end of the line can hear it.
The one bonus that I have now, is that I picked up the App Streamtome. A fantastic iPhone app that allows the user to stream their iTunes on their home computer – wirelessly to their phone. Meaning, no more spending hours and hours of time to transfer media to the phone during a restore or purchase. I’ve noticed that I’m hearing music in my library that I haven’t heard in a long time. This is a fun adventure. When it comes to movies, it came in handy last night when I had a desire to watch a movie and I wasn’t home.
In the music end of things, I’m putting the fork into a couple of projects. Today I’m archiving audio files and making sure they’ll be openable in the future, even if the audio recording program changes. Whew. It’s a process.
Today also marks my foray into writing up a few little skits that I’ll be creating into little trailers for my next CD. Getting my creative impetus on!
Today’s music choice is: Don’t Be Scared To Move by Little Anchor.
I really like the way it opens up with an electric piano sound. A nice bouncy feel with some old school charm. Then there’s the super sweet and slightly sexy voice that comes in over the top. Once the rest of the band comes in there’s a forward movement that while slightly eclectic, has great charm. That’s the best I can sum it up as: Slightly eclectic with great charm.
Enjoy the tune and make sure you go drop the duckets to pick it up for yourself.
