As it’s said time and again every year, there’s nothing like being home for the holidays. Such is the case right now in the little resort town known as Park City. As I sit here preparing a gift for the extended family and practicing a couple of songs for the party tonight, I’m looking at the temperature outside. It’s 14f. That’s pretty darn chilly. To make it worse, there’s very little snow on the ground. I think it’s time to start offering up goods to the precipitation gods may a little music for creative cold snow making is in order.
As it happens, I’ve had a fan tweet me about lyrics to my song Christmas Brought Me You. Turns out he was doing a version to give to his girlfriend for the holidays. She loved it from what I hear.
I got a little bogged down with a gift that has taken probably a week’s worth of time to complete, maybe more. I’ve lost track of the count. Probably why I haven’t really noticed a lack of snow. Though I’ve been hearing about it. Not to mention interviews and a prep for a show too.
In thinking about getting some snow to fall, I should have been more on top of the blog… However, today’s choice of Winter Wonderland by the Left Over Cuties is certainly a choice I’d make for being creative. I met the singer for the Left Over Cuties at the SESAC Christmas party a couple of weeks ago. That’s how I got to hear of this jazzy little group.
The voice that comes out of Shirli, the singer is quite a bit more powerful than I had expected due to her height. Then again, why should I be surprised? Lot’s of people are shorter than I. Oh well. Regardless, I’m happy to pass this along to you and say, hey – get this song for yourself. Which is available on iTunes. Don’t forget to keep an ear out for them on TV as well.
In the meantime, I have to attend to the computer as it’s saying there’s issues with the movie gift I’ve created. Ugh. Plus I have to make sure that I push the play button and turn the speakers up really high outside on my way to the post office (all without freezing of course). All in an effort to get that creative cold snow flowing!
Also, make sure you sign up for my email list over on the upper right! There’s a gift involved for you.
