I’m not sure how I escaped it this year. I think this has to be the first Christmas or Holiday season in a bunch of years where I don’t remember seeing Christmas decorations prior to Halloween. Or even Thanksgiving. It’s quite refreshing to say the least.
Last night, being December 1st, was the kickoff to my Holiday season for Christmas. It began with a party thrown by SESAC. I always like attending their parties as they do great catering and free drinks. Can’t beat that! They always have a cool jazz band playing tunes and lots of industry people.
The great thing about it, is if you bump into the same people enough times, they feel like they’re getting to know you and will take calls and make lunch meetings. Such was the case last night for several people I bumped into. That’s a big plus, expand the network.
Because it’s that time of year and I know a friend of mine who’s been licensing a song of mine for his Advent Calendar: Grant’s Advent Calendar, I’ll kick off this season with my award nominated song Christmas Brought Me You.
It’s got a cool rolling guitar figure, a spicier than normal holiday music rhythm and spunky vibe that gets a lot of people in the mood for Christmas. Twitter has already been fairly aflutter with people tweeting about Christmas Brought Me You and a lot of my other Christmas music. That’s not a bad thing.
What’s your timeline for Christmas or the Holidays?
