Yesterday evening I played a show. It’s been a little while since I played out in the area of town that I played. There’s one thing that will frazzle most performers and that is when the sound is terrible. I had a problem in the middle of the set last night where the guitar kept cutting in and out. Normally this wouldn’t disturb me. But when it was so loud in the monitors and popping in and out it got downright disorienting. I had to stop in the middle of a song and attempt a cable switch. Not something I like to do, but it had to be done. The audience didn’t seem to mind.
In fact, it was a great show. I had a great time. The people that came had a great time and I even got some donations for Dorian. That’s a fantastic thing.
Afterwards I spent some time having dinner with a couple of fans from the show. It was a great time.
Today, I’m looking forward to the next segment of recording an album I’m producing for someone else. Then it’s a meeting with my new agent for composing. It will be a great day!
Because of the good feeling, I’m thinking it’s time to roll with some funk. Bring it On … Bring it On by the master of funk with James Brown. What is there to say other than it’s a straight up funk masterpiece. You feel the energy. You feel the vibe he’s throwing out and with such force. It’s no wonder his band had to be on top of there game.
Go forth and make a great day. Get funky!
