I read a post today from a friend of mine. It talked about the concept of those of us with too many things coming in demanding our attention to learn to say NO to things when we don’t feel HELL YEAH about them. I fully get it. In fact I think a lot of my closer friends would agree that I already tend to do this as it is. I know that I’ve had some comment and wonder how it is that I can do so many things that they find interesting but never seem to get around to doing. I think the answer is that I say yes to things that I want to do.
One shocker came last monday when a friend of mine that I had been giving advice to told me that she had finally said NO to something that related to work. She was proud of herself. I have to agree. It’s something you have to learn to do. Especially when you’re not feeling HELL YEAH about it.
Derek’s post was primarily about testing that NO vs HELL YEAH prior to doing any thing where the choice is presented. However, I know that I’ve come across things that made me feel HELL YEAH after I did them. The kind of HELL YEAH that sneaks up on you. I had such a HELL YEAH this past weekend. The great thing is, the other person involved in the evening had that same sort of response so that’s a great thing.
If there is a band that has more popular songs about the concept of Hell in any form it’s gotta be AC/DC. Here’s a live version of the masters of hard rock. Keeping it simple on the drums with a straight forward beat that pounds. Guitars with a great tone and driving rhythm. A solid bass line that doesn’t venture away from what’s needed and a vocal that is perfect for their sound. AC/DC should be reserved for Sunday’s Child since they don’t put their music on the download sites, but I fell that today is a HELL YEAH kinda day and what the hell, I’m going to post it.
Of course I’m linking to where you can buy the actual CD, thus I suggest to go do that!
