I don’t think it’s a major secret that I’m learning the joys of cooking. Hell, I’ve had friends tell me they want to have me write a cookbook and do a cooking show. I’m flattered that I’m considered to be that good of a cook. Or rather chef. Last night I had a dinner with a friend. A meatless main dish. She asked why I decided to go meatless. My answer was, variety. I tend to eat a fair amount of meat. Instead I opted for a rice dish that included bulgur and pasta. The salad was a cucumber salad and a side of pinto beans. She brought a nice pinot wine and dinner was quite tasty. Not overpowering on the spices. Oddly, the combination of everything really worked. Joy!
We followed it up with going to a blues dance hangout. Fun stuff. I finally feel like I’m starting to get my footing with blues dancing. Still a hiccup or two here and there, but otherwise really starting to flow.
Today I’m heading out for a hike with the dog. Need to get some outdoor air. Since I’m on the run, I’m gonna leave you with a song from a couple of years back…
