Radar, clues and cues. What do they all mean? It’s a good question. When one talks about it in a sense of looking for a member of the opposite sex, it’s often said that your radar works or it might not work. Radar in that sense means you’re tuned into the clues or cues that a potential interest is giving off. I’ve likely said this before, I’m quite sure that most of the time my radar is either broken or shut off. I’m betting there’s a multitude of women that could back me up on that.
For someone who is adept with music, rhythm, timing (a key thing for much of life outside of music as well as in music), and cues that I’d be a whole hell of a lot better at. In some ways, I’d like to say I know when someone is interested, and I’m pretty sure I know when they’re not. However, sometimes I’m reading someone and I’m pretty sure I’m reading right, but what comes out of the person’s mouth is the exact opposite of what their body is saying.
I got smacked with that yesterday. Not literally smacked with a hand or bat or anything, but with the confusion of not understanding a person I was with. With all the craziness going on in the world today, I’m thinking it’s a whole lot of factors that influence things. Sometimes it feels like you’re not getting the whole picture. Or at least I get that feeling.
For once I’m looking at wanting to be wide open with someone else who isn’t a stranger, a digital friend, or a family member. That doesn’t happen often for me. That’s part of being vulnerable. You leap and hope like hell that whomever you jump for is going to join.
For those that haven’t been on the upkeep of the past couple of months, I’ve been writing instrumental cues for Fox and various library type ideas. Every now and then it seems that I create something a bit more cinematic. Such is the case with the newest cue I’ve created. I feel like it really fits an action movie. It pounds, it soars, it resonates, it’s got flair. Funny to say shit like that about my own music. I’m not really into the mood or vibe of saying I’m the shit. That’s the job of someone else.
This isn’t something that you’ll likely be able to purchase. Not soon anyway. I may eventually release all my cues in one big set. Who knows.
Regardless, keep an ear out. You’ll never know where you’ll hear it pop up in the world. I’ve got a couple of people I can call about trailer cues, so I’m going to place calls to see about that.
