What a good weekend. Good to see family, hang out and have fun. Went rock climbing, bowling, eating, chatting, good times. Even had a good long chat with someone I haven’t spoken to in a long time – that conversation hasn’t been finished yet.
Time to move ahead with the week. Today I’m on course to finish something involving my library website. At least getting it to a working fashion, which will be a big step forward. Later today I’ll be doing a writing session with an artist who is the first artist to ever cover one of my songs. She’s got some good things going on and wants to do some writing, that’s a good thing.
Get to the music.
Since I’m feeling like a mover and making things happen I’m rolling with the power of Freight Train by Sister Sparrow and the Dirty Birds. That’s a pretty cool name for a band. The song itself is a moving piece of music that has the rolling lilt of how a freight train is often depicted in music. That opening guitar riff makes me feel like I’m taking a time travel trip to another era of the delta.
Once the vocal comes in I’m hooked in because Sister Sparrow (I don’t know her actual name) has a really sultry, smoky voice that melts all over this track like warm syrup on pipping hot fresh organic waffles with chocolate chips baked in. Yummy. The rest of the band is providing the appropriate fat much like a side of bacon. A satisfying meal of song there is no doubt.
Go explore the world the Dirty Birds and have fun.
