How does one go about creating a Rock God? Is it the clothing, the hair, the glasses, the shoes, the body size? Or is it the music? Maybe it’s the way they stand? Or the friends they keep? Hmmm… Maybe it’s the tattoos they get. Anyone know if Dave Matthews has one? Of course punkier bands like Green Day, Fallout Boy, The Used, they’ve got ’em. John Mayer, even Devin Bronson (played guitar for Avril). Maybe it’s the way they play music or the instrument they play. What makes the ultimate Rock God? That’s a good question.
These are the burning questions that enquiring minds want to know. They also represent an idea I’ve got percolating. When I get more of it brewed up I will let people know. It will be something fun.
In the meantime, I’m expanding into a new genre today. A genre of Polka.
Gasp!
What is this sound pouring out of the speakers of your computer right now? It’s a polka tune from a Grammy winning band. Mind you, I primarily know of polka as a genre geared towards German Beer get-togethers – Oktoberfests and such.
For some strange reason this particular song caught my ear and I decided to express it to all of you. I don’t know a lot about polka other than the fact that it doesn’t strike me as a genre that has tattooed musicians playing it. That’s not to say there aren’t tattooed polka players. It just doesn’t make me think of it.
It’s part of that crazy mind of mine. Where I’m testing out what it’s like to mix two things that don’t normally go together, just to see what it’s like. Why? Cause I’m bold like that. Sit back. Relax. Grab a beer, and in this instance, think about someone you care about and miss. The Versatones have got it covered.
