Yesterday was my friend Aubrey’s birthday / roast. She’s a musician I’ve known for a few years now. She held it at a place called Irelands 32. Lots and lots of musicians all getting up to play some songs and of course some fun games, food, drinks, and even more music. I’m beginning to notice that I’ve got quite a few people that I know who all have a birthday in June. Weird that I seem to know so many early summer kids.
Anyway it ended up being yet another very long night. I’m practically turning into a vampire in the past four days. I haven’t really been to bed before 3 am since Thursday. Oy.
I almost feel like I’m in some sort of limbo right now. I’m still awaiting word on revisions on a tune I’ve created for a new movie trailer. I’m thinking I ought to put a grocery list app to use on my iPhone so that I can go shopping in high tech style. Maybe getting out of the house will help clear my head or something.
Or I can start dancing around the studio to today’s song. It reminds me a little of last night’s party. Not because of the style but more of the vibe. It’s groovin and seems a bit out of control. Which is exactly what happened last night. There was a schedule of some sort but like most plans it got ignored. Which was still fun.
Actually this song reminds me a little of Gogol Bordello. It’s fun and upbeat with a very different from American vibe. It’s fun and that I enjoy. Lots of little instruments from little bells and some types of tambourines are in there. Coupled with samples and loops that give it a real smokin groove.
Enjoy yourself and dance freely. Go get the music and do it when ever you wish.
