I got a text last night from a friend. Sometime around 11 p.m. It said: Did you got home safe? Ah, what a fun text. At the time I had received it I was in Los Angeles however I had not made home. No, before I even got home I was already in the studio working on a commercial that has gone thru a lot of revisions which has led to at least 6 different versions of music for the damn thing. Each time they change their minds as to what the music should be. Oh joy.
Nothing like getting up around 6 a.m. in one time zone only to be up in another time zone until 2:30 a.m. to be going home and not making it there. I did finally get home.
I did have an issue develop with my auto. I think there’s a leak in the radiator hose somewhere. Hopefully I can get it sussed out today before it becomes a big issue.
So the vacation is over. I’m right back into the LA thing. Working on music before I even got home. Now today, I’ll be running to the mailbox, checking the car out, doing a meeting for film trailers, then a writing session with the friend who sent me the text. I know I’ll get some rest by thursday. It won’t happen today or tomorrow since it’s the last day of the year and I’ll need to write up a list of things I want to accomplish for 2009.
How about you?
Essentially, it’s me getting hit right between the eyes as I rolled into LA. Which is what leads me to today’s choice. Hot Buttered Rum. A term I’m sure I’ve heard before, not sure where or why. It’s a drink right? What I like is the acoustic nature of the song. It’s laid back but extremely uptempo. What a bizarre mix.
I dig the instrumentation. It makes me feel like I need to relax while I’m in the middle of racing around to get things done. Perfect for my day. I need to race, but I want to relax. Yin and Yang I suppose.
Hopefully you’re still enjoying your vacation and will continue to do so until monday of next week.
p.s. – it appears that this is a digital release only.
