This week seems to be one of those weeks where the world feels a tad out of step. I have to wonder if the world skipped a beat on Monday and really hasn’t caught up just yet. Though I think it will today. Not sure how to explain it, but for a lot of people I know, they didn’t have a very good Monday, and Tuesday felt like it was in limbo for them too.
I spent a good portion of yesterday working on a track. Once it was finished, I turned it in only to be told it was too clean. It wasn’t modern enough for the style. Funny how me delving into a new style yielded me going retro with it. Thus it got rejected. I was given more examples to check out and started a 2nd track. So far this one is turning out way more dirty in the style which means it’s more modern. Thus when I get it done later today it shouldn’t get rejected.
New couch should be here later today. That will end up completing the facelift of the living room.
Because I’m feeling positive that the world will straighten itself out today, despite two phone calls from two more friends who are facing depressing stuff, I have to roll with Rising Star by Alfonso Tellez Jr.. Mostly due to the heartfelt vibe going on in the rather bold music. I can hear the tale of positive news inside the music. Along with that longing for everything to work out the way it’s planned or should.
There’s an element to the music that I’m hearing that reminds me of a night not long ago where I was deep in conversation with someone and the look that came over their eyes was that same unspoken message. Pain for not knowing how things would turn out, but with a longing that it would.
Alfonso has captured that well.
