Last night’s movie screening was a movie that I had no idea about. I didn’t know what kind of movie it would, nor what it would be about. Thus I went in expecting nothing. I walked out thinking, wow, that was a hell of a story. I’m still not sure I know what if anything I got out of it. There was a point while watching the movie where I felt like maybe my IQ might be dropping. That’s a tad harsh. But that thought did cross my mind.
The movie is called Winter Bone. It’s set in the south. The story is about a 17 year old girl having to take care of her little brother and sister. I felt like I was really there. The dialog, the mannerisms, everything. I think they truly nailed the idea of being poor and in the south. While I’ve never experienced it. I have to imagine that’s exactly how it could be.
Sad.
Tough.
Crazy.
Get a chance to see it. It could rock your world.
For some foul mouth fun, today it’s Primus spitting out their rather strange but fun song that intro’s every episode of South Park. A crazy cacouphony of sounds motoring with nutty guitar parts blazing over a slap happy bass line with lyrics that are flat out bizarre.
Not much more to say about that.
