Should everything go right today a song that was to be finished Wednesday of last week should be finished by later today. I’m excited for it. It’s the kind of song that really is getting a point across and with all the little bits I’ve been putting into it, I think it’s also got some great ear candy. Thus it should do very well for it’s intended audience.
What makes it even more fun is that the co-writer is super excited by it as well as the person helping to push it to where it’s going to go.
The process of getting a song done is bit like the gestation and birthing of a being. There’s a point of inception, then a gestation, and finally a birthing. I know that I’ve written about how the process of doing an album can be draining. So much mental work goes into it. Beyond the mental process when a session runs long or goes into multiple sessions it can become a physical test as well. Some sessions can be grueling. However, it’s still something I love to do and I do it because I don’t have anything else I want to do.
I’ve been fortunate to meet some people who have made it to the top of the heap in the business. One thing I’ve found for all those that I’ve met, they all have a passion for it. I’m sure there are those who don’t, but I’ve yet to meet them.
While I’ve been typing about birthing, it’s the idea of coming up with that idea and the passion that goes into it that creates dreamers. Which is where I’m making the connection to today’s pick. I’m a little amazed by it. Mostly because it’s a hooky little pop style tune, but I’m having trouble figuring out if it’s Janyse singing all the way thru. When it hits the prechorus and the chorus I’m hearing a voice change that sounds like a little kid taking over the lead.
Pick up you day with a happy tune, go get Janyse.
